It's 2nd, 3rd, or nothing. The Nintendo Switch’s strong start continues. But Nintendo isn't a #1 console, so no one is going to switch online services to it. WIth those services if you can no pun intended, switch from one to the other if you change ecosystems. It becomes a massive barrier, and people aren't going to give up PS+ or XBLive. But not many people are going to pay for a 2nd or even 3rd online service, they just aren't.
BREATH OF WILD WII U VS SWITCH FREE
I remember free online was a major selling point and many times was a deciding factor in people buying a Wii U. Oh and I need to buy an app for voice chat/invitations and use my phone? Gee thanks NIntendo for letting me play for 30 whole days a random 30 year old game.
BREATH OF WILD WII U VS SWITCH PRO
It raises the costs, lowers the power to the point where it's got the power from 2007, but to get what you need to use it as a console it's above PS4 Pro price and nearing the rumored Scorpio price of $499. But still, it's basically the same structural problem with the console. Yes it's more functional in that way, but it also loses the ability to use it as a 2nd screen like the Wii U. Thus the compromises and added cost are a lead weight to this thing just like the gamepad on Wii U were. See, most people don't give two shakes about it being portable. Sitcker shock will be a concern for most people. There's also other accessories if you want to use as a portable. There's also storage concerns for digital downloads and/or DLC. which is basically PS4 Pro prices to play almost NOTHING. Who wants to pay $299 + 70 for a pro controller. Novelty means nothing when everyone's been conditioned not to trust Nintendo and their hardware. Waaayyyy more.īut here is Switch showcasing jack and schmidt and it launches in less then 2 months. When Sony and MS had THEIR reveal presentations in January and Feb of 2013, the launch was 9-10 months away. EA didn't announce anything else, not even a Madden even though Madden doesn't even come out until August usually. It's going to be awhile before games come out on this thing.įIFA is based off the PS3/360 version, whereas the main version runs Frostbite, the Switch WON'T. These teams then need to turn around and take a couple of years or so to make their NEXT game. which means it should hit late 2017, but might not, and might be a 2018 title.

Remember when MS showed Crackdown? Even then I said, well that won't be coming until late 2016 or more likely 2017. Like 1/7th as good, then it's going to be a long, long time. But they haven't been announced, and given that crap lineup that pales in comparison to Wii U launch. Yeah, maybe there's a Metroid, or a Pokemon or something. No one needs Splatoon 2, it looks basically the same. Only thing I can even see is Mario and Xeno 2. What does Switch have coming in 2017, 2018, or 2019 that needs anyone to purchase a Switch?

You should be on PC, regardless of expense (save up, like everyone else does.XD), and just wait for the inevitable emulators to play certain exclusives that you don't want to get a console for. It isn't guaranteed to get every third party game on the market, but it won't be short of choices, and will be a perfectly valid choice of system for any open-minded multi-console gamer that likes the idea of having a home console game selection to play on the go.īut if none of that matters to you, and the only thing you want is tons of third party games at the highest fidelities possible, then you shouldn't be on a console. If you're okay with more than one, then the Switch will get plenty of games that will look, and play, just as well on Switch as anywhere else, only the Switch will let you take said home console games with you, if you go out a lot. So the real question here, is whether or not you only want one system this gen? Of those that are on other consoles AND Switch, most of them will be games using art styles that will not have much graphical quality variance, like RIME or Binding of Issac, and will therefore look and play fantastic on the Switch.īut even for the ones that don't use less taxing art styles, they'll still be in HD and will still look and play great. Some you'll be able to play on other consoles, others you won't. Why should anyone bother trying to convince you, when it feels like you'd have an excuse prepared for any reason given?īut since you've asked, I'll play the fool for once and try a serious answer.
